MASHA Bylaws

1. Corporation Name and Purpose

  • Name: Metro Atlanta Street Hockey Association (MASHA)
  • Purpose: MASHA is dedicated to organizing charitable events and contributing to the local community in the greater Metro Atlanta area. Our focus is on fostering the growth and unity of our community through hockey.

2. Principal Office

  • Our principal office is located in Atlanta, Georgia, with the flexibility to establish additional offices as needed.

3. Membership and League Dues

  • Membership is open to athletes who meet the following criteria:
    1. Pay league dues on time.
    2. Attend a required number of official league games.
    3. Adhere to the MASHA Rulebook and Code of Conduct.

4. Board of Directors

  • Structure: MASHA is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of five key voting positions:
    • Chief Executive Officer (CEO): Sean Fleming
    • Chief Operating Officer (COO): Jordan Byers
    • Chief Marketing Officer (CMO): Donald Kleckner
    • Chief Administration Officer (CAO): Michael McChesney
    • Director Emeritus: Jean-Francois Pare
  • Duties: The Board is responsible for overseeing the league’s operations, making strategic decisions, and ensuring the organization’s mission is fulfilled.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Expectations: All members are expected to demonstrate sportsmanship and respect both on and off the rink. Unsportsmanlike behavior, including derogatory language, excessive physical contact, or taunting, is prohibited.
  • Consequences: Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or expulsion from the league.

6. Financial Management

  • The Board manages MASHA’s finances, including collecting dues, managing expenditures, and ensuring transparency in financial matters.

7. Amendments

  • Bylaws can be amended by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. Proposed changes will be considered and voted on during Board meetings.
